The Season of Enough

With all of its changes, October offers a hinge in the year: the air cools, the light shifts, and the world itself seems to exhale. It’s always been a full-bodied season for me, with the earthy scents of decay, the sounds of migrating birds moving about, and the drama of changing leaves. With all of its changes, what if this is a season that asks less of us?

We spend so much of our lives chasing “more.” More time, more energy, more clarity, more impact. It’s easy to believe that enough is always somewhere just out of reach. But October extends an invitation to slow down.

Have you ever noticed how the trees don’t apologize as they let go? They release what they must, trusting a rhythm that naturally gives way to rest as part of the cycle. Maybe we’re invited to do the same: to release, to breathe, to say “this is enough for now.”

As the world shifts toward quiet, I’m wondering:
- What would it look like to live as though enough were already true?
- To find beauty not in striving, but in savoring what already is?

May this season meet you in the fullness of enough.
